The name "Blackfeet" can be traced back to the distinctive black hue of their moccasins, either painted black or darkened by fire. They were once referred to as the "lords of the plain" and was the most powerful tribe in the area. The Blackfeet tribe presently live in Montana and southern Alberta, Canada. Women are highly regarded in their society. They own property, conduct religious ceremonies, and have the right to choose and even divorce their husbands. Measures 30cm high x 23cm wide
