KING RAMSES II- BATTLE OF QADESH. This statue was inspired by a wall painting describing the Battle of Qadesh in Ramessess II vs. the Hittites, the king shooting arrows at his enemies while charging them in his chariot. In reality the king would have had a charioteer to drive the horses, but to depict a second man in the chariot would have spoilt the dramatic effect and reduced the heroic image of the king. Measuring 27cm long x 18cm high
